A  Trip to Anandvan Greens

 
The tiny tots of Rainbow Wing made it the talk of the town on Tuesday, 22nd of November 2011 by visiting the ‘Anandvan Greens’ which awaited to welcome them with unforgetable events resonating with music and dance.  Our group of 150 students and eight teachers reached the breathtaking ambience at nearly 10:30 a.m. and were served with filling breakfast followed by a drawing competition divided in two categories for Classes I to III and classes IV to VI in which Yatharth, Sakshi and Koel bagged prizes in their category.  Navya of Class V, Komal of Class VI and Ayush of Class IV A were adjudged the winners.  Then we proceeded for a dance competiton on the dance floor and Harjeet of Class I, Tishika of Class IV A and Shaily of Class V won accolades along with our very talented teachers like Ms.Babita, Ms. Renu and Ms. Sonia who proved their worth on the dance floor as well.  We were then escorted by their guide to the dream valley, the only one of its kind, which comprised of a beautiful jharna and lush green lawns with blossoming flowers.  This was followed by hygenic and delicious lunch served by them with utmost love and warmth and relished by one and all present.  We then visited the Sutar’s Kala Vatika which is maintained by Padmashri Ram V. Sutar’s Sculpture Academy.  The Vatika presented beautiful sculptures of our leaders and exotic wild life.  To conclude the trip, the students participated in an enjoyable statue dance and the prize giving ceremony by our respectable chief co-ordinator Ms. Sangeeta Taneja, without whose guidance and support, this try would not have been this much memorable and successful.  The trip came to a halt at 4:45 p.m. when excited children reached the school premises safely and dispersed with appreciating notes.  
 
 
Children’s Day Celebration
 

On the occasion of Children’s day a ‘Fancy Dress Competition’ was held on 12th November 2011 in the school premises. The tiny tots of classes I to III and the blossoming buds of classes IV and V had participated in it. The competition was categorised in two sections.Category 1 was for the students of classes Ito III and Category 2 was for the students of classes IV and V. The competition was graced with the presence of our hon’able judge Mrs.Sangeeta Taneja(Chief Co-ordinator) students showed their toil in the competition. In category-1 Ishant of class 1 got the first position.Mansi of class II got the II position and Saurav Sarout and Durgesh of class III got the III position .In category 2 Chandan,Nishant and Riya Kumari got the 1st,2nd,3rd position respectively.In the end the winners were awarded by Mrs.Sangeeta Taneja with small tokens of love and Blessings.

 
 
Founder's Day Celebration
 
The foundation day of D.C. Model Sr. Sec. School was celebrated on 9th of September 2011 as the school completed its 17 years of foundation. On this day, seventeen years ago, Mr. Dhanik Lal Mandal, the then Governer of Haryana did the honours by laying the foundation stone of the school and officially declared the auspicious opening of one of the pioneer in the education field in Faridabad. So to commemorate this event, a special assembly took place in which the honourable Director Sir, Mr. Pawan Kr. Gupta addressed the students and motivated them to be confident, self reliant and have a sense of belongingness for the institute, the state and for the country. Every one pledged to be responsible citizens and good students so that they can fruitfuly work and march forward for the brighter tomorrow.
 
Independence Day Celebration
 
The management, staff and students of DCMS parivaar joined together on the 12th of August 2011 to commemorate the 65th Independence Day of India, clubbed together with Raksha Bandhan celebrations in the school premises. Ms. Bartha, Ms. Silvia and Ms. Anna, teachers from Spain and Mrs. and Mr. Dsouza, Principal of a play school in Faridabad graced the occasion with their worthy presence. The celebration started with the ceremonial tilak ceremony and the lightening of the Deepshikha followed by the guard of honour for the guests. The guests were welcomed by an enthusiastic salute to our motherland by saying Vande Mataram. They then cherished the fun-filled extravaganza of patriotic songs, rhymes and dances being prepared by the students of our school under the expert guidance and support of Mr. Preetam, our dance teacher. Everyone was so enchanted by the presentations that . Ms. Bartha, Ms. Silvia and Ms. Anna could not stop themselves from joining the students on the stage on the foot taping beats of ‘Bhumro Bhumro’ and ‘Bum Bum Bhole’ which further added to the essence of patriotic fervour. Madam Silvia was full of praise for the commendable efforts of the students and mesmerizing show being put up. She also assured of being a part of our future celebrations. The official vote of thanks was given by our worthy Principal madam who thanked the guests with mementoes. The celebration came to an end by the visit of the dignitaries to an exhibition of Rakhis being prepared by the students of the school in a competition being organized. They also had a glimpse of our science labs and bid a farewell with praiseworthy notes.
 
 
 
 
 
 
     

Rising Stars

A group of a students of our school have won First prize in a Dance Competition organized by “Young Talent Hunt 2011” at Azad Hall, New Delhi near ITO. 0n Saturday, 16th July’11. Under the guidance of our talented Dance teacher Mr.Preetam . Around 500 Contestants participate in the same.

Inter house Skit  Competition

An Inter house skit competition was held in the campus of D.C Model Sr. Sec. School to inculcate the interest of the students in co-curricular activities. The occasion was graced by the Chief guest Mrs. Surekha and Mrs.Anumati. The competition comprised of different plays based on the theme ‘Patriotism’. The students participated with great enthusiasm and showed immense eagerness. The plays showed the entire history of India ranging from Vedic times  to Modern times thus attempting to bring the youth face to face with their identity. The Satluj house bagged I position under the incharge ship of Mrs.Sangeeta Taneja. Mandakini house and Godavari house bagged II and III position under the inchargeship of Mr.H.S.Sharma and Mrs.Kanchan Bhatia respectively.The entire exercise turned out to be interesting and fruitful as it enabled the students to explore their hidden talent.The show made a grand success under the guidance of our Senior Activity Incharge Mrs. Simul Bhattacharya. We hope that students should continue to participate in such type of activities in future as well.
